m:Parking™ allows motorists to pay for parking in a designated parking space with their mobile phone. When near-field communication (NFC) technology is enabled on mobile handsets, parking meters and payment facilities, an added measure of convenience can be introduced. However, a mobile parking solution can also be implemented without NFC technology.
Motorists can register for the service via a white-label Web portal, by phone (IVR or live customer service representative) or by mail. On registering, motorists receive a bar code or NFC tag sticker for their vehicle.
