Quality Assurance and Technical Support Engineer
Position Description
MoreMagic Solutions is a leading provider of carrier-class cross-platform payment and transaction management solutions for mobile commerce. The company’s product range enables dynamic pricing and payment for all forms of network services, content, and applications. We are a software developer company based in Newton, MA and are looking for a Quality Assurance & Technical Support Engineer.
The position will have the following responsibilities:
- Testing new products, features and capabilities including
- Black Box Functional Testing
- System Testing
- Performance and Stability Testing
- Automating regression and performance test packages
- Creating scripts for automating various activities on the system
- Technical and customer support
- Debugging customer issues remotely and on site
- Installation of software and integration into customer networks
- Some product/feature documentation
- Occasional tinkering with smart-phones and other fancy gizmos
- Necessary to be on call off hours and on weekends as deemed necessary.
The qualifications and skills we are looking for are:
- BS in Computer Science with 1 – 3 yrs. exp. in the industry
- Knowledge of and exp. in QA methodologies and tools
- Experience with all aspects of software testing
- Knowledge of scripting languages e.g. Perl and Shell Scripting
- Ability to create automation of test packages using knowledge of scripting
- Knowledge of open source software that can be used to create automation
- Knowledge of Linux or at least some flavor of Unix is a must
- Knowledge and ability to program in Java is a plus
- Excellent communication skills in order to deal with our customers
- Familiarity with Oracle and knowledge of Apache and Tomcat
- Fluency in Spanish is a big plus since a number of our customers are in Latin America
- Ability to work in an extremely fast paced, multi-cultural work environment.

The position will have the following responsibilities:
- Designing and developing new products and features based on cutting edge technologies and platforms
- Unit testing & bug fixing
- Product and feature documentation
- Customer support
- Occasional tinkering with smart-phones and other fancy gizmos.
The qualifications and skills we are looking for are:
- BS in Computer Science with 2-5 yrs. experience as a software developer using Java programming language
- Strong knowledge of Java, C++, C#, Linux
- Working knowledge of Perl, PHP, Apache, Tomcat and familiarity with Oracle and MySQL
- Knowledge of .NET, JBoss and J2ME is a plus as well as familiarity with Telecom Networks is a huge plus
- Excellent communication skills

Software Developer (entry-level)
Position Description
MoreMagic Solutions, Inc., a provider of mobile commerce transaction processing platforms and applications, seeks software developers to participate in projects associated with the development and deployment of platforms and applications in mobile networks worldwide. The development organization operates in a team environment, with close interaction with customers, partners, and others.
Skillset Required
- Strong Knowledge of Java, C++/C#, Unix and Linux.
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Perl, PHP.
- Knowledge of .NET and J2ME a plus.
- Knowledge of Telecommunications and specifically Mobile Commerce domain a definite plus.
- Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic work environment.
- Knowledge of Spanish language a definite plus.
Responsibilities
- Understand requirements and design new features
- Identify areas for improvement in the product
- Develop new features
- Participate in code reviews
- Unit testing of code
- Bug fixes
- Document the design of features/capabilities
- Help with documentation of the product
- Provide help to testing, customer support on an as needed basis
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering is required
Work Experience
- 1 to 2 years of professional software development work experience
